City Expects Tube Congestion to Grow

It’s almost a footnote in this announcement about an Estuary Crossing Feasibility study to study alternative ways for cyclists and pedestrians to get across the estuary in the vicinity of the Webster and Posey tubes, but there it is:

“Additionally, it is anticipated that the congestion at the Tubes will continue to grow and therefore alternative modes of transportation are needed.”

Action Alameda has been saying this for some time now, that development at the west end of Alameda will increase congestion in the tubes. Finally the City is acknowledging it.
