So goes Vallejo…so goes Alameda?

The City of Vallejo has filed for bankruptcy. Meanwhile, here in Alameda, the city is faced with a $4 million budget shortfall, dwindling reserves and three alternate development plans for Alameda Point, all of which would draw more from the general fund than they contribute. City Hall is flailing about trying to bring more retail to Alameda to shore up sales tax revenue, while they ignore re-using Alameda Point to generate business-to-business sales tax revenue.

Under Johnson’s, Gilmore’s and Mataresse’s so-called “leadership” – can Alameda be far behind Vallejo?
