Let’s Create a City of Alameda Rainy-Day Fund

The legislative analyst’s report on the Governor’s proposal to issue bonds backed by future California state lottery funds illustrates the need for us locally in Alameda to set up our own “rainy day” fund for our schools. AUSD Superintendent Reluctantly Agrees to Track AUSD Money

Alameda Unified School District Superintendent Ardella Daily, under pressure from Action Alameda, has reluctantly agreed to track and report on redevelopment money set aside for the school district by the City of Alameda.

Alameda Planning Board Denies Re-zoning Application

The City of Alameda Planning Board suddenly “got religion” tonight and started talking about the need to draw businesses and jobs to Alameda, and that was part of the reason they denied Harbor Bay Isle Associates (HBIA) application to re-zone 12 acres of land on Bay Farm Island from commercial to residential.
