Community Action For A Sustainable Alameda Public Meeting

Community Action for a Sustainable Alameda (CASA) has sent us this notice for a public meeting (below.) We hope CASA will seriously study and evaluate the sustainability of SunCal’s plans for Alameda Point, and not just gloss over them. SunCal’s plan for 4,200 homes at Alameda Point will generate auto traffic on Ralph Appezzato Parkway and Tinker Avenue on their way to the tubes, increasing local emissions. The people living in Bayport will be framed by those emissions. The proposed buses – several per hour – will also generate local emissions on those thoroughfares and through the tubes to downtown Oakland. And is SunCal’s plan to build housing on the flood plain of Alameda Point “sustainable” giving the predicted rise in sea levels?
