City of Alameda Mystified at Source of $700 Million Figure

See below to a link to San Francisco CBS 5 coverage of the Save Our City! Alameda press conference at Alameda Point in advance of the Wednesday January 7th meeting of the Alameda Re-use and Redevelopment agency. Special Assistant Deputy City Manager Lisa Goldman (one of many on the City Manager’s staff) appears mystified by the $700 million bailout figure. But as we’ve long suspected, City of Alameda officials don’t read the reports submitted to them.

The CBS 5 report is here. Late last year, SunCal made a filing with the City of Alameda which included a draft master infrastructure budget for Alameda Point, which totted up to $679 million…call it $700 million. Clearly Special Assistant Deputy City Manager Lisa Goldman has not read the draft budget. Just like the Planning Department, which tends not to read reports either.
