San Jose, Palo Alto, Berkeley top “Greenest Cities” List – Alameda Not Listed

Greentech Media released a list of the top 12 Greenest Cities in the U.S. naming San Jose as number one, in part for creating 25,000 cleantech jobs. The report notes that San Jose “considers itself the capital of Silicon Valley, and wants to be the global center of greentech innovation.”

With Alameda Municipal Power’s sourcing of primarily renewable energy, there’s no reason Alameda couldn’t be a close contender by focusing on greentech and cleantech jobs at Alameda Point, instead of just building housing, and then trying to force everyone to take public transit. Such alternatives are being proposed.
