According to NASA’s skywatch page the orbiting International Space Station (ISS) will be visable from Alameda for two minutes, starting at 6:12 AM, at 37 degrees elevation, starting in the South-South-West sky and exiting from view at about 10 degrees above elevation at South-South-East.

Updated, 12:30pm: Wilson Sonsini creates cleantech funding source portal.
The Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal is reporting that third-quarter venture-funded cleantech deals were up 46% to almost a billion dollars. With SunCal’s looming implosion at Alameda Point, it’s time to re-direct some of that money to sustainable energy research and cleantech companies that can re-use the existing buildings at the former base.

Alameda merchants contacted Action Alameda News with concerns about a mixer that West Alameda Business Association (WABA) Executive Director Kathy Moehring is organizing tonight at the Bladium. Apparently, Ms. Meohring is insisting that WABA members must be present at the mixer to vote in WABA board elections. But that doesn’t jive with the WABA bylaws obtained by Action Alameda News.
