San Francisco to Purchase Treasure Island From the Feds for $105 million

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that the City of San Francisco has struck a deal to purchase Treasure Island from the U.S. Navy for $105 million.

According to the report: “The Navy agrees to cover the cost of environmental cleanup at the base, which closed in 1997. More than half of that cleanup has already been completed, and the remainder of the work, relatively speaking, is not very significant.”
