More importantly how much did this fiasco cost the citizens of Alameda in terms of time, effort, and yes, the cost of the Special Election itself. Does any one really think that building a few hundred, or thousand homes at the Point will stop suburban expansion in Pleasanton, Fremont and up north? At least those venues have BART. All Alameda will get will be more traffic and more congestion.

What we need is some real leadership to get rid of greedy developers for once and for all. And to begin the healing process for all the damage SUNCAL fomented in its quest for the almighty dollar.
