Celebrate the Lunar New Year this Saturday, March 6th, from 11:00am to 2:30pm at Harbor Bay Landing Shopping Center on Bay Farm Island in Alameda at the 12th Annual Lunar New Year Festival.
There will be a booths presenting a variety of activities, including Chinese calligraphy and brush painting, arts and crafts and jewelry making. The Lincoln Middle School Band will perform, as will a Chinese musical instrument orchestra. See a hand-pulled noodle demonstration.
The festival will also feature Sichuan Opera “Face Changing,” which may be best explained by the video below. (Sichuan is a province in China.)
