The following is a notice from the Alameda Public Affairs Forum…

ALAMEDA PUBLIC AFFAIRS FORUM

SATURDAY EVENING, MARCH 13— 7pm TO 9:30pm Alameda Public Library, Oak Street at Lincoln

SPECIAL EVENT: CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EDUCATION IN CRISIS: THE MARCH 4th DEMONSTRATIONS.

WHERE DOES THE MOVEMENT GO FROM HERE?

On March 4th students from north to south demonstrated to protest cuts in public education in K to 12, Community Colleges, State Universities, and the University of California.

The Forum will present video footage of these demonstrations, taken by our own Joe Woodard, and speakers including Jack Gerson, co-ordinator of the March 4th activities. The speakers will address the nature of the problems facing California education and outline solutions and plans for continuing and expanding the movement.

This crisis affects every student and every parent – as well as every teacher and school employee – and the future of California! Come join the discussion of how this crisis can be solved.

All invited. Coffee and cookies. No admission – but donations at door welcome.
