This morning, Miss Alameda Jessica Robinson opened Alameda’s Earth Day event at Washington Park with a reading and by leading a performance by Ballet Arts.
Robinson is competing this year as Miss Alameda for the crown in the Miss California USA 2011 pageant. Previously, she announced that the theme for her campaign would be “green” – emphasizing efforts to leave a better environment for our children.
Miss Alameda opened Earth Day events by reading from prepared notes on what “being green” means to her; she then led a dance troupe from Ballet Arts – a dance studio that she teaches at – in a performance of a modern ballet “Bird Pray”, choreographed by Jorge Mendoza.
