Estuary Park Action Committee Posts Info on Boatworks Project

Dear Editor,

EPAC has posted more information about the high rise, high density “Boatworks” development that threatens Estuary Park. Let the City of Alameda know what you think about the project’s Environmental Impact Report.

Collins, the developer who owns the land planned for Estuary Park at Clement between Walnut and Oak, is pursing his plan to jam a high rise, dense development onto that area he calls Boatworks.

The City of Alameda has released the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the proposed Boatworks project at Oak Street and Clement. The project as proposed by the developer will place 242 (Non-Measure A compliant) residential units on just 10 acres of which 4.5 acres have been set aside in the Master Plan for the Oak Street Estuary Park (now known to the city as the Northern Waterfront Park).

Additional information about the contents of the DEIR is now posted soon on the Estuary Park Action Committee web site at http://www.alamedareport.org/epac/. Click on the link, “A 28-page Response to the Boatworks’ Draft Environmental Impact Report.”

Let the Alameda Planning Department know what you think of the Boatworks Development. If possible, attend the Planning Board review of the DEIR on Monday, April 26 at 7 PM in City Hall.

The EIR is available for download from the Planning Department web site at: http://www.ci.alameda.ca.us/community/boatworks.html
