Alameda Labor Council Endorses Wilma Chan, Not Beverly Johnson, For County Supervisor

The Alameda Labor Council has endorsed Wilma Chan, and not Alameda Mayor Beverly Johnson, for the Alameda County Supervisor seat for District 3, Alameda’s District.

Action Alameda News reported in January that Mayor Johnson seemed set to run for a second term as a City of Alameda Councilmember. However, she then switched tracks to the County supervisor seat after the incumbent, Alice Lai-Bitker announced that she would not run for the seat again.

The news from the Labor Council comes in a communications to union households asking for support of labor-endorsed candidates for the June 8th primary election. The Council has also endorsed incumbent Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley, who lives in Alameda.
