The Alameda Harbor Bay and Alameda/Oakland ferries announced this week that bicyclists can ride free the ferries all day on Bike to Work Day, Thursday, May 13, 2010.
To get the free ride, you have to have your bike with you when you board the ferry. This is the fifth year that the ferries have participated in the annual Bike to Work Day event.
The ferries provide service across San Francisco Bay and the estuary between Alameda, Oakland, (Jack London Square) and the San Francisco Ferry Building in downtown San Francisco. The Alameda Harbor Bay Ferry operates between Alameda’s Bay Farm Island and the San Francisco Ferry Building, with three morning and four afternoon and evening runs.
