City of Alameda Boards and Commissions Have Pending Vacancies

Over half-a-dozen City of Alameda boards and commissions have pending vacancies due to term expirations of incumbent members. The City of Alameda is asking for members of the public to step-up and serve.

The following boards or commissions have vacancies:

  • Civil Service Board – 1 vacancy
  • Historical Advisory Board – 2 vacancies (2 incumbents eligible for reappointment)
  • Housing and Building Code – 4 vacancies (2 partial terms expiring June 30, 2012) Hearing and Appeals Board
  • Housing Commission – 4 vacancies (2 incumbents eligible for reappointment)
  • Library Board – 1 vacancy
  • Planning Board – 2 vacancies (1 incumbent eligible for reappointment)
  • Public Utilities Board – 1 vacancy (Engineer seat)
  • Transportation Commission – 3 vacancies (1 incumbent eligible for reappointment)

The City Council is soliciting applications from residents who would like to serve on the above-noted Boards and Commissions. Application forms may be obtained from the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, Room 380, by telephoning 747-4800, or on the City’s website. Interested persons are encouraged submit applications to the City Clerk by Friday, May 21, 2010.
