Wind River and LSI Corporation to Co-market Solutions for Telecommunications Market

Wind River, of Alameda, and LSI Corporation, of Milpitas, announced today that they plan to collaborate on the marketing of integrated hardware and software solutions targeted at networking and telecommunications equipment manufacturers. The partnership is driven by an “explosion of wireless data traffic” resulting from widespread consumer adoption of smartphones like the Apple iPhone.

LSI makes specialized communications processors used in wireless devices and other telecommunications equipment used by telephone equipment and large businesses, and Wind River produces operating systems and debugging software for the same types of equipment. The two companies aver that their combination builds an ecosystem that will enable telecommunications equipment vendors to earn more revenue with greater end-user satisfaction.
