Buena Vista Avenue Street Re-Resurfacing to Begin Next Week

The City of Alameda says that recent street resurfacing on Buena Vista Avenue, from Grand Street to Willow Street, by Gallagher & Burk, didn’t meet project specifications, and the pavement will need to be removed and replaced.

According to the City, the Public Works Department concluded that the original resurfacing work was not up to snuff, and they are having the work re-done. The work is scheduled for the week of Monday, August 30th. During pavement removal, there will be one lane of traffic open at all times. During the paving phase – for one full work day – the street will be fully closed to everyone except emergency vehicles. Construction hours are to be limited to 8 a.m. through 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Residents should expect traffic disruptions, noise and dust.
