Councilmember Tam Says The District Attorney’s Decision is Final

By Erica Madison

Councilmember Lena Tam spoke on her behalf to the public at a recent special Alameda City council meeting, in which she called the District Attorney’s investigation exhaustive.

This was in direct contrast to Mayor Johnson’s statement, who said that Councilmember Lena Tam had not been exonerated.

According to Councilmember Tam, the District Attorney has conducted an investigation in which it was concluded that her conduct was not inappropriate.

“It’s disappointing that interim manager and city attorney characterized the District Attorney’s decision as tentative”, said Tam.

To the public Tam explained that she was only trying to give the community what she thought they wanted.

“Whatever the community wants for Alameda Point I will vigorously defend”, said Tam.
