Yesterday, Juan Carlos Vazquez, the owner of Alameda’s Taqueria Viva Mexico was presented with an award for implementing a commercial landfill diversion program at his restaurant. The award was sponsored by the Sierra Club Zero Waste Committee and the Community Action for a Sustainable Alameda (CASA), and presented by Miss Alameda Jessica Robinson.

Regarding my personal experience at the hospital this summer:
Fact One: The Alameda ER written report that details the very real physician and nurse failures that nearly killed me…and the doctor’s documentation errors…he listed me as a child brought in by her parent! I assure you, I am not a child!
Fact Two: The Alameda Hospital bill of $10,000+ for the ER visit and for imaging later that same month; all was comped; I did not pay one dime.

The Alameda Election Freak Show has taken yet another turn. After sponsoring flashy mailers dissing candidates it doesn’t like — DeHaan, Johnson and Matarrese — and various telephone push-polls, etc., SunCal, the Orange County developer we kicked to the curb in March by defeating Measure B, 85% to 15%, is still at it. This time, they are telling a disgraced and discredited Desert Hot Springs former city councilman to wade in.
