Miss Alameda At Salon Marcello This Sunday to Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Miss Alameda will make an appearance at Alameda’s Salon Marcello on Sunday to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The salon is offering $20 haircuts, and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Shahla Taj, owner of Salon Marcello told Action Alameda News, “Breast Cancer is like a plague that terrorizes women across the globe. I have supported in the past and am currently supporting some of my close loved ones in their fight against the abominable disease. Hopefully this event will make the bedroom community of Alameda more aware of how they can help and actually give people a channel to help through. Furthermore I feel that as a business owner it is my duty to give back to the community; Particularly owning a hair salon, women are our main clientele so as they have supported my business I am in return having this event to support those women who have been diagnosed with this unfortunate disease.”

The Breast Cancer Cure party starts at 10 a.m., this Sunday, October 3rd, at Salon Marcello, 3137 Fernside Boulevard, Alameda. (High Street at Fernside.)
