Alameda Youth Sports Coalition Hosts Candidates Forum

Last night, the Alameda Youth Sports Coalition held a candidates forum at the Bayport Recreation Center. City Council and Mayoral candidates answered a range of questions pertaining to the City’s support – some might say lack of support – for youth sports in Alameda. Approximately 55 people attended the forum.

The event was videotaped and the Coalition plans to make the recording available to the public. Griff Neal, the moderator for the forum, told Action Alameda News, “We’re really trying to get a large sports facility built that would be a regional center.” Ten of thirteen candidates attended; Mayoral Candidate Kenneth Kahn, and City Council Candidates Marilyn “Ezzy” Ashcraft and Jean Sweeney were unavailable.
