Police Seek Suspects in Theft of Purse, Dog

Update: Nov 2, 2010 – Alameda PD say they believe the suspects were driving a blueish-colored 90s Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera with no front license plate, and a rear California license plate with a number similar to 3REL125. The car’s front-left quarter panel is off-color, tan or gray.

Alameda Police are seeking two suspects after an attack on an 80 year-old Alameda woman on Saturday, which resulted in the victim’s loss of her purse, and her Yorkie “Deuce.”

According to the Alameda PD, the victim was walking her dog in the vicinity of Encinal Avenue and Fountain Street around 2:00 p.m. last Saturday, when she was attacked by two men in a vehicle. One of the men “simulated a gun” and demanded the woman surrender both her purse, and her 6 year-old male purebred Yorkie. When she refused, one of the men pulled the leashed dog from her while the other took her purse. The two men, both African-American men in their late teens or early twenties, then fled in a light blue or green 1980’s Honda or Toyota sedan. The car’s left-front quarter panel is covered with primer coating.

Alameda Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 510-337-8340.
