Concerns About Chain of Possession of Letter from Acting City Attorney

Dear Editor,

I have grave concerns about the chain of possession of the letter from Acting City Attorney Donna Mooney addressed to me and other Alameda citizens, dated 1/25/11.

Between the time it was signed by ACA Mooney and delivered to my home, it was intercepted by City of Alameda Democratic Club official and SF Gate blogger, John Knox White, and posted online without my consent. I am sure it was my copy of the letter, because each was hand-signed, and each signature varies slightly; mine matches the copy posted online exactly.

I verified with both the City Clerk’s and the City Attorney’s office that John made no request for the document from either office. Nor have I at any time granted him permission to access my copy of the letter. This leads me to wonder not only how John learned of the existence of the letter before the recipients did, but who provided him with the document to scan and post online. This reminds me all too well of behavior he has been accused of before within the past year.

In the interest of transparency, the average citizen has to put in requests for public documents at City Hall, but apparently John Knox White does not.

Gee Adam, Where have you been? JKW is the consigliere for our ersatz Mayor/Council. He has been receiving emails (confidential and otherwise)for many months now. And with the firings going on at City Hall, the Acting City Attorney cannot change anything or she too will receive a phone call from the Mayor and her papers to go home and get paid but not come back to work.

The SUNSHINE ploy was just a big joke on the citizens to deflect attention from the unholy trio of SUNCAL stooges now in apparent lack of command of the City. Spineless, brainless, and with a complete lack of integrity, they continue unchecked without a care in the world. They are impervious as they have SUNCAL’s money behind them.

It is just a matter of time until we lose the SUNCAL lawsuit (they have fired those necessary to defend it properly and doubled if not tripled the costs of defense) and we are back to fighting SUNCAL, with both of our hands tied behind our backs and blindfolded. While TAM sends SUNCAL everything letting SUNCAL call the shots.

TAM is no doubt still leaking, as the leak was never plugged. She got away with it, and has been emboldened to wreak even more havoc on those who chastised her in the first place.

The League of Women Voters, Kate Quick, John Knox White et al., are the harbingers of evil for Alameda – litning rods bringing the very worst to the citizens and our City. Still a minority view (not in racial terms, but vote wise) they have drunk at the cup of power and are absolutely mad with it.

Unfortunately, the citizens of Alameda are just fiddling around, hoping this cannot be true and that it will just go away on its own. Not so. They are here just like the leaders in Tunisia and Egypt, until the citizens see there is no SUNSHINE with these three, and revolt.

  • The Three Stooges promised they wouldn’t bring SUNCAL back, but they also promised transparency in government, and we saw that go out the window the night of the Purge. They lost our trust before they could even ask for it. With a reputation like that, it’s very unlikely that LBL will locate their new lab at the Point, not if they have to deal with these people. I’m surprised SUBCAL hasn’t sued Alameda for even considering such an RFP.

Many other reputle firms are going to think twice before locating here. And smaller ones will be put off by the egregious school parcel taxes, unless they locate on property that is left untaxed!
