Tonight at the Public Utilities Board meeting, Alameda Municipal Power staff will ask for input from board members on a Request for Proposal (RFP) they want to issue to study emerging trends in electricity rates and electrical utility technologies. The staff report cites “Smart Meters” as a new technology that provides new pricing options for utilities. To date, only PG&E has deployed smart meters in Alameda.
