New Toastmasters Club for Alameda Job Seekers

A new Toastmasters club launches in Alameda next week, aimed at furthering the career aspirations of those who are employed, and helping those looking for work find it.

The new Career Seekers club will hold its inaugural meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15th, at the Alameda Hospital, in conference room A on the second floor. Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization that helps people master public speaking and leadership skills.

In a prepared statement, Valerie Grogg, President of the new club said, “I wanted to create a forum that lets people develop skills that are important for landing a new job. Strong speaking and presentation skills can make all the difference in an interview.” Ms. Grogg also said that she wants to provide job networking opportunities through the club.

Guests can attend any Toastmasters meeting at no charge and with no obligation to speak publicly.
