Tonight, the Alameda Unified School District Board of Trustees will consider a resolution to change the attendance zones for Ruby Bridges and Paden elementary schools, to alleviate overcrowding at Ruby Bridges school.
The existing attendance zone boundary line between the two schools that runs west along Pacific Avenue from Webster Street will shift north to run mostly along Buena Vista Avenue. The change will affect families living on:
- 1700 block of 5th Street
- 1700 block of Webster Street
- 1700-1900 block of 3rd Street
- 2nd Street
- Cypress Street
- Brush Street
- Maple Street
- Spruce Street
The change would affect new AUSD students this fall; current students would be unaffected.
