Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) issued a press release today explaining that roughly 2,500 customers lost power briefly this morning. The cause, AMP believes, was Mylar balloons that crossed power lines. According to the utility, the outage was brief, and occurred at 10:16 a.m. and affected customers between Clement Avenue and Otis Drive, from Paru Street to LaFayette Street, including some adjacent areas.
