Alameda Post Offices Spared From Replacement Study

A list released by the United States Postal Service this week reveals that none of Alameda’s four postal offices will be considered for replacement by a “Village Post Office.”

The postal service is initiating a study to determine which of some 3,700 retail offices can be replaced with so-called Village Post Offices operated by local businesses, such as pharmacies or grocery stores. USPS is looking to “right-size” it’s 32,000 retail outlets to save money.
