City Solicits Applications to Fill Civil Service Board Vacancy

The City of Alameda is seeking applications to fill a vacancy on the Civil Service Board. The board meets on the first Wednesday of every quarter at 5:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers at Alameda City Hall.

The stated purpose of the board is to “facilitate competent and efficient administration” of Alameda’s municipal government, “through provision for making appointments based upon merit and fitness, and provision for such security of tenure as is compatible with efficiency and discipline.” This is aided by a set of civil service rules published by the City and approved by the board.

Application forms are available from the City Clerk, at Alameda City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara AVenue, Room 380, or from the City’s website.
