Special AUSD Meeting Tonight to Discuss BOE Values, Mission, Equity Policy

The Alameda Unified School District Board of Trustees will hold another special meeting tonight. Included in the agenda are a discussion and review of the Board of Education’s Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles for 2011-12, and a discussion and review of the Board of Education’s Equity Policy and Education Values.

The meeting will also include a closed-session discussion on the lawsuits over AUSD parcel taxes. In the case of the lawsuit over 2008′s Measure H parcel tax, AUSD Attorney George David Nied was granted last week another extension, until September 9th, to file the district’s response to the appeal brief. That case is A129295 in the California Court of Appeals, 1st Appellate District.

The board will also conference with labor negotiators regarding the organized labor groups, AEA and CSEA, representing AUSD employees, and unrepresented employees, such as management, psychologist, behavioral specialists and occupational therapists.

The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. at AUSD’s main offices at 2200 Central Avenue, in the third floor conference room.
