Alameda Municipal Power will give an update to the public and the Public Utilities Board on Underground Utility District #31 On October 17th, at 7:00 p.m. at Alameda City Hall Council Chambers. The district covers the area along Webster Street and nearby addresses on cross streets.
The undergrounding effort has been controversial as far back in time as 2008, when Action Alameda News received complaints from residents in the Gold Coast Neighborhood.
More recently, residents affected by the Webster Street undergrounding district have complained about paying for the “beautification” of Webster Street.
Alameda Municipal Power says that owners affected by the Webster Street district will receive a letter shortly about the upcoming meeting and that the staff report for the meeting will be published in advance at https://www.alamedamp.com/power/uud31.
