Water Emergency Transportation Authority Awards Ferry Contract to Blue & Gold Fleet

The San Francisco Bay Area Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) has awarded a five-year, $44.5 million, contract to the Blue & Gold Fleet to operate the Bay Ferry services.

Blue & Gold Fleet operates the ferry service between Oakland, the Alameda Main Street terminal, and San Francisco.

WETA was established in 2007 to succeed the San Francisco Bay Area Water Transit Authority, and apart from operating day-to-day commute ferries, has the responsibility to plan and coordinate water transit response to a regional emergency.
