Alameda to Offer Wedding Ceremonies On November 11th

The City of Alameda will be offering civil wedding ceremonies at Alameda City Hall on November 11th, 2011, or, 11-11-11. Government offices are otherwise closed on Veteran’s Day, a federal holiday.

The city says that popular demand prompted them to offer the service. “We thought it would be apropos to launch our newly expanded wedding service on a day that no other city or agency is open to provide the service,” said Lara Weisiger, City Clerk. “Our staff is excited to be able to offer this service to interested couples.”

The city’s expanded civil ceremony service includes video, photography, personalized vows and a decorated venue.

Those who are numerologically inclined and looking to tie the nuptial knot should contact the City Clerk’s office right away at 510-747-4805 to schedule their ceremony.

Your wedding might even be televised live-on Cable channel 15. I believe I tuned in once just in time to see the props left over from one.
