Daylight Saving Time Ends – Turn Clocks Back Tonight

Daylight Saving Time officially ends in the wee hours, tomorrow, Sunday, at 2:00 a.m. Turn your clocks back 1 hour before you go to bed to wake up on time. Alameda residents have a lot of work ahead of them.

Daylight Saving Time officially ends at 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of November.

The California Energy Commission wants you to not only change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when you set your clocks back, but also change light bulbs.

According to the Commission, switching to energy efficient light bulbs can save you $30 each year on your electricity bill.

And the recent cold weather in Alameda is also a reminder to check your furnace and change the filter before winter starts in earnest.

Finally, homeowners should remember to check and clear their gutters of fallen leaves and debris ahead of the rainy season.
