Alameda Police Warn Residents on Burglaries

Alameda police are warning residents about a rise in residential burglaries throughout the city.

According to an advisory sent this morning, a resident of the 2100 block of Alameda Avenue left for work this morning at 9:00 a.m., leaving behind family members.

At about 10:30 a.m., an unknown person kicked in the front door, and upon entering the residence and seeing the family there, he fled.

Alameda police have provided a description of the suspect – a male with dark skin, possibly of Hispanic descent. He was about 5’6” and overweight. He wore a blue surgical type mask to cover the lower portion of his face.
