The 39th Annual Elks Hoop Shoot City Finals is scheduled for Friday, January 6, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. at the Alameda Point Gym at 1101 West Redline Avenue, on Alameda Point.
The Elks Hoop Shoot is a national event, conducted locally by the Alameda Recreation and Parks Department and sponsored by the Alameda Elks Lodge.
According to the City of Alameda, over 3 million kids across the country participate in the competition each year; over 300 children participated across Alameda this year.
The winners from the City Finals in each age division will represent the City of Alameda and the Alameda Elks at the District Shoot-Off scheduled for January 14th, 2012 at Sierra High School in San Mateo.
