Call for Interviews

Action Alameda news would like to interview providers that have applied for a food truck permit.

City Works to Improve Building Department Customer Service

The City of Alameda is working to improve customer service from the building department, including surveys of visitors to the planning and building counter.

The first step is a simplified fee chart listing the most common projects and their permit fees. The chart is available online and at the permit counter.

The City will also begin sending online surveys to those who use planning and building services to gather feedback for staff training and other potential improvements.

And throughout 2012, the City will publish a series of articles in English, Spanish and Chinese, on issues ranging from “Why do I need a building permit?” to “Hiring a Contractor.”

In a statement, Lori Taylor, Director of Community Development, said, “we are doing our best to improve the process.”
