Samsung Selects Wind River for Android Smartphone Development and Testing

Wind River, an Alameda-based technology company owned by Intel, announced yesterday that Samsung Electronics is using its software for development and testing on Android smartphones.

Android is a smartphone operating system produced by Google that, when paired with a mobile phone handset, competes with Apple’s iPhone.

Samsung is using Wind River’s Framework for Automated Software Testing for Android and Wind river’s User Experience Test Development Kit to test quality and performance of its handsets.

Wind River made the announcement in advance of the Mobile World Congress trade show next week in Barcelona, Spain.
