West-end Commuters to Get Caffeine Relief When Starbucks Re-opens

Monday morning should be a better day for commuters in the West end of Alameda, as the Starbucks at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Webster is set to re-open.

The store was closed roughly 10 days ago for renovation and expansion, after the neighboring Togo’s sandwich shop closed.

A spokesperson for Starbucks told Action Alameda News, “In order to provide the best experience to customers, remodeling is a standard course of business for Starbucks stores. The new layout of the store, which expanded into part of the Togo’s area, will allow for additional seating capacity. We hope our customers are as excited as we are about the remodel, appreciate their patience and look forward to serving them when the store reopens this Saturday, March 17, 2012.”

Why did Togo’s close? Could it be b/c Alameda has seven Subways? I like em both & prefer the competition.
