Alameda Municipal Power Hikes Rates

At Monday’s Public Utilities Board meeting, the board approved an overall 3.25% rate increase for Alameda Municipal Power.

The new rates become effective July 1 of this year; they are the third increase in a planned five year rate increase plan.

According to a media statement from the utility, the average residential customer can expect to see a 4.4 percent increase in their monthly bill via a monthly customer charge of $2.50. Commercial customer impacts will vary depending on use, but the average rate change is expected to be approximately 2.4 percent.
