San Francisco Bay Ferry to Provide Extra Service in Response to BART Shutdown

San Francisco Bay Ferry announced additional service today in response to the closure of BART service between San Francisco and the East Bay.

The service is adding capacity to its afternoon and evening schedule as follows:

SAN FRANCISCO – OAKLAND JACK LONDON SQUARE – ALAMEDA MAIN STREET:
SF Bay Ferry will deploy two extra ferries on the San Francisco/Oakland/Alameda route, operating a total of three ferries with a combined passenger capacity of 1,383 per departure. Departures from the San Francisco Ferry Building are scheduled for 1:00, 2:00, 4:10, 5:20, 5:40, 6:25, 7:25 and 8:25 pm.

SAN FRANCISCO – ALAMEDA HARBOR BAY:
SF Bay Ferry will deploy one extra ferry on today’s route, operating two ferries with a combined capacity of 348 passengers per departure. Departures from the San Francisco Ferry Building are scheduled for 4:35, 5:35, 6:35 and 7:35 pm.

There are no changes to the East Bay to South San Francisco service.

According to the MTC 511.org website, a free bus bridge has been established between the Transbay Terminal in San Francisco and the MacArthur BART station in San Francisco. It will run from about 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today. Look for buses that display “BUS BRIDGE.”
