Should the City of Alameda try to control or regulate the slaughter of backyard farm animals, like pigs, chickens and rabbits? Action Alameda News would like to hear from you.



Alameda Point Site Tour This Saturday

This Saturday, the U.S. Navy will conduct a tour of cleanup sites at the former Naval Air Station Alameda, now known as Alameda Point.

Check-in will be at 8:45 a.m. at City Hall West, 950 West Mall Square on Alameda Point. Attendees will board a bus at 9:00 a.m. and tour the following sites:

Site 1 – Disposal Area;
Site 2 – West Beach Landfill and Wetlands; Operable
Unit-2B – Former Industrial Area;
and Site 24 – Pier Area

The Navy has provided a map of the sites here.

The organizers advise participants to wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, and bring a hat and sunscreen.
