Friends of Alameda Wildlife Refuge in Running for Cox Conserves Heroes Award

Yesterday, KTVU Channel 2 and The Trust for Public Land announced finalists for the Bay Area’s Cox Conserves Heroes program. The Friends of the Alameda Wildlife Refuge group stands to receive a $10,000 donation, thanks to finalist Leora Feeney, who named that group as the beneficiary of her choice. Ms. Feeney is competing with two other Bay area finalists. All three finalists receive a $2,500 donation for their named nonprofit.

Friends of the Alameda Wildlife Refuge did not respond to request for comment, or to reach ms. Feeney.

The winner will be selected by online voting, and his or her nonprofit of choice will receive an additional $7,500 bringing the total donation to $10,000.
