Teacher’s Union Kicks-off Fall Campaign for Favored School Board Candidates

The Alameda Education Association, representing teachers in the Alameda Unified School District, kicked-off its fall campaign this morning to boost the chances of three candidates the union favors for the school board.

Roughly 80 people, mostly teachers, attended the event in front of Alameda High School. Union president Gray Harris characterized the three candidates – incumbent Trish Spencer and newcomers Barbara Kahn and Jon Murphy – as the “teachers’ team” for the school board.

Attendees were invited to begin precinct walking in support of the candidates after just over 30 minutes of speeches.
