Alameda Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspects

alameda police arrest suspectsAlameda police say they arrested two Oakland residents today suspected of armed robbery in Alameda on August 17th.

Police say that in the early morning of August 17th, 2012, 12 adult males were in the parking lot at 3000 Main Street, the ferry terminal, when they were approached by three to four adult male suspects bearing handguns.

The suspects hit the victims with a handgun, took their personal belongings and fled in vehicles.

Police responded, located one of the vehicles involved and took one suspect into custody. Investigating officers recovered a gun that morning.

And adult male and one juvenile male, both from Oakland, were arrested today pursuant to the ongoing investigation. A second adult male, already in custody in an unrelated case, has been identified as one of the assailants as well.

Police seized evidence at two locations in Oakland during execution of search warrant.

The Alameda Police Department did not release names or photographs of those arrested today.
