alameda county transportation commission

The City of Alameda is soliciting applications to serve a two-year term as the Alameda representative on the Alameda County Transportation Commission Citizens Advisory Committee.

The City of Alameda is seeking applications from residents who would be willing to serve a two-year term on the Alameda County Transportation Commission Citizens Advisory Committee.

The 22 member commission has oversight of the expenditure of Measure B funds, which are generated through a half-cent sales tax in Alameda County. (Measure B1, on the ballot this November, would double and extend the existing tax in perpetuity, raising roughly $8 billion in the first 30 years.)

The seat reserved to represent Alameda is currently vacant.

The committee meets throughout the county on the third Thursday of the month from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and four times per year, the committee hosts a transportation forum immediately after the committee meeting. All meetings and forums are open to the public.

Application forms may be obtained from, and filed with, the City Clerk, City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, Room 380; via the City’s website or by telephoning the Office of the City Clerk at 747-4800.

The deadline for applications is October 25, 2012.
