Rain Soaks Alameda, More to Come

This National Weather Service radar image shows a large system centered over the Bay area.

A National Weather Service rain gauge reports over an inch of rain having fallen at Oakland International Airport in the past 24 hours. Alameda has been getting soaked, and more rain is to come.

Alameda won’t get a respite from the rain until Monday, according to the current Weather Service forecast which calls for partly sunny skies that day, with a high of 62 degrees.

But the rain is likely to return Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly clearing again on Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook advisory for the San Francisco Bay shoreline, warning of heavy rains, strong and gusty winds and possible urban flooding.
