Trident Partners wants to tear down the Chipman warehouse and divide the parcel into 53 lots for 89 housing units, including 38 duet condominiums.
The City of Alameda Planning Board previously approved the plan in late November, after some modifications. The current proposal calls for 52 lots for single-family homes, and one large lot for 37 multi-family units.
The site was re-zoned in July of this year as a ‘multi-family overlay’ site, which effectively sidesteps housing density restrictions under the so-called “Measure A” city charter amendment approved by voters in 1973.
City staff are recommending that council approve the subdivision plan.
