Alameda Municipal Power Launches Powerstar Contest

Alameda Municipal Power, the city-owned electrical utility is looking to spotlight customers who have demonstrated innovative approaches to energy savings and greener power use.

Winners of a Green Powerstar award will be announced at the city’s Earth Day Festival in April. Alameda business and home owners, as well as students, are invited to apply in one of four categories: Small Business, Large Business, Residential or Youth. Applicants should base their submission on accomplishments in 2012.

Previous winners, and more specifics on the award categories are available on the utility’s website.

Applications are due by 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 4th.
